Well...here's why AL is being clingy to her Ten. His last line is just heartbreaking...The fourth take of it they had him break down almost completely and I can see him holding off the regeneration and just wanting to stay with her, sobbing that he doesn't want to go and her telling him that holding it back will just kill him faster and that it hurts. "I can feel it...so can you," she would say and reassure him that everything will be all right in the end and that she will be with him after he changes (not many places to go in the TARDIS). And feeling the power of the regeneration he'd warn her to stay back and he'd tell her he loves her before succumbing.
( The regeneration scene...goodbye Ten, hello Eleven )
My only gripe is that it's the same friggen effect they've used since Christopher Eccleston regenerated into David Tennant (albiet more powerful this time since the poor TARDIS gets destroyed, but that's there reason to rebuild the thing for Matt's tenure). Each of the regenerations is supposed to be unique.
Ahh well. I'm sure I'll grow to like Matt Smith and he'll probably be included on AL's list of guys soon enough. We'll see in spring.
I do miss Ten, though.

I've reanimated the
planet_alnilam community so V's boys and whoever else wants to join to hang out with AL, the guys, the unicorns and whoever can. This is to hopefully cut down on those serious discussions that wind up over in the Inkwell on birthdays (plus I live for RP, lol). So please join if you like.
AL herself may make a post later on, but like I said in the intro post, don't wait for me to post to start a conversation. Anyone who's a member can post, so have at it!
Special thanks to
jedisisko for giving me maintaner status so I could rehash the community. <3
And now I need to do laundry and take a shower.

New episode of Heroes tomorrow at 8 and 9pm (and back in its old time slot starting next week). New episode of House next Monday at 8pm. So now I'll be watching both. I've lost track of the new Scrubs. And no new Doctor Who 'til Spring. Who else cried? Me, I bawled like a baby.
I haven't forgotten about the Tigon sitting in my Inbox. I'll page her at some point.

Frankly, I think I'm gonna be asleep at midnight...
I think I'm coming down with something. The past couple days I've woken up with heartburn and lightheaded and dizzyness. It usually passes after a while but while I was at the theater last night I was so dizzy I was in tears. Luckily I got them to let me come home early. I went to sleep at 10:45 and didn't wake up 'til 1pm.
And no, I'm not pregnant. I took a test and it was negative.
And my left eye keeps twitching and it's annoying.
I've gotten 163 songs put back on Donna2.0 (the replacement). Lots more to get back...and forget about the texts and contacts and pictures. I'm just gonna have to save them as people text and call me.
So my year's gonna end with a Doctor Who Season 4 marathon and me going to sleep. Ed went to his parents' cuz Joey's driving up from Virginia and I stayed here cuz I feel like crap.

Hi LiveJournal! Sorry it seems like I've been ignoring you. Trust me, I've just been busy is all.
We had a fantastic season with Ramius and the Grinch, and are already planning improvements to be made to both costumes. I'd like to get a facial appliance for the Ramius costume, and I'm definitely going to be fixing the coat so you can actually see my legs. We'll be doing some makeup fixes with Dad's Grinch, but he was extremely well-received. People at the mall were especially thrilled to see him, even if he did scare a few kids. I love my family. ♥ ♥
Now I normally don't make posts about the gifts I received, and I know I talk a lot about my fantastic boyfriend and how Asian he is, but let me tell you: this year, he managed to get me something I didn't expect. He signed me up for a Steam account and bought me not one, not two, three awesome games, all ones he knew I'd like. First was the complete Tales of Monkey Island, which I beat a couple of days ago- I was surprised by the ending and how good the story was. It's definitely my second-favorite Monkey Island, right behind Curse. Awesome job, TellTale games! Fingers crossed we won't have to wait another decade to get more Monkey Island games. ♥ ♥ ♥
The second game is a little like the SNES classic The Lost Vikings- it's a platformer called Trine, where you control a wizard, a thief, and a warrior and use their unique skills to make it through each stage. The graphics are lovely, and it has a multi-player mode that is a lot of fun.
Third is a puzzle-platformer called Braid, which is not only a beautiful game with great challenge and strange time-control antics, but the depth of the stories in it really surprised me. Love it! I've got to admit it, the boy really knew my tastes in games.
Among other gifts given to me were lots of dorky, nerdy gifts from my parents, such as a fossil necklace and some amber with a bug in it. I also got nifty coats and a neat Clint-Eastwoodesque poncho, dinosaur Christmas ornaments, and a Where the Wild Things Are Hallmark that is beautiful. Also among my gifts was a very generous, anonymous gift certificate to LJ- I suspect it might be from
damned_santa, but there wasn't a post made about it and I really wanted to thank the giver for it, so it sits unused in my e-mail box until I get a thanks out. If you're out there Santa, thank you! ♥ ♥
Hopefully, we'll be getting some sunnier days soon- for the holiday season, it has been surprisingly dreary and rainy (that's the primary reason for the delays on the project for
heerosferret- the paint on the surfboard doesn't dry with all the nasty weather. Sorry it's taking so long!). I did get a lot of knitting done the other day while watching Mythbusters, finally finishing a project that has been in the works for months. I hope the sun will shine again soon so I can finish this surfboard and get to work on other things.
Costume-wise, my next costume will either be Purim from Secret of Mana or a Wheeler from the Return to Oz film. One will be fairly easy, the other will be unusual and unrecognized by most people (it turns out most of my friends have never seen the movie, and look at me strangely as I try to describe the character to them :< ). Harrrr, decisions.

You ever look at someone and just know that there's no one else in the entire world meant to be with you but that person? That there's not one single soul who quite matches your own like that one person? Like the universe purposely created the two of you because it knew that you needed each other and no one else could do for you what that one person can do?
I look at her and I know without a shadow of a doubt that my heart was made for her.
Even with all the ups and downs and craziness that our life entails, I'm the happiest I've ever been.

Christmas
I'm still in shock. Reeling. From one of the best Christmases ever. And the best Christmas present ever. My girlfriend is amazing. Truly. Seriously. AMAZING. She loves me. SO MUCH. I'm still just... floating right now.
Before I explain more, here's a quick run-down for myself to remember who got me what:

Traditional Mix CD (Eric)
From Ash:

New sweatshirt that I wanted

Two packages of Blast Spray Writers
Charmed Seasons Four & Five
AND...
Ash, my family, her mom and sister, her dad, and her step-dad all pitched in and got me this amazing glass drawing table! It is beautiful and everything I have ever wanted in a drawing table and more. The glass top makes it a light table as well! How awesome is that?! I have been wanting this table, but I never thought I'd get it because it's a pretty pricey drawing table. But oh my goodness.
Ash had informed me earlier that because she didn't have any money, she was just going to clean and set up my home office for me. I thought that was a great gift and I couldn't wait to see it. Of course, she had tons of gifts for me when I got back from Wisconsin. She said she had still fixed up my room though - she had even wrapped my door and put a bow on it. It was so cute! She went in and first and then called me in. I opened the door expecting to just see my office put together but oh gosh, there was my brand new glass-top drawing table set up, filled with my inking pens and erasers and inside there were drafting tools that Ash's dad had bought me. Her step-dad had helped her set it all up last night, and everyone had pitched in to get it for me.
Let's just say it was understatement that I cried. I pretty much bawled my freakin' eyes out after I got over that initial shock. I still can't believe they all did that. I can't believe Ash, the little ringleader of it all. She knows me better than anyone else. I cannot even begin to describe all the feelings I had looking at that table. I keep going into my office just to make sure it's there. It's so beautiful. So is my girlfriend.
Here's a few more gift things:
I got Ash:
Complete Xena: Warrior Princess Series (w/ the Anniversary Fan Favorites)
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii and 400+ Game Guide
Special Edition Legend of Zelda Nintendo DS (it's gold and has the triforce engraved on it - and it also came with the DS game Phantom Hourglass)
The Family Menagerie Website (I'll post a link later)
My Parents Gave Ash:
Tsubasa Manga #18, #19, #20
Oh! My Goddess Manga #3
2 Sketchbooks
A Box of Crayons
Lego Indiana Jones Wii Game
I spent five days in Wisconsin and got back to Austin this evening. Ash took me to dinner at Panda Express so we could just pick up some food and come home to the kids. The dogs went nuts when I got home they were so happy. Of course, what's our house without a little craziness and random events? At around 1:30am, we hear a scratching at our door. Upon investigation, we find a small, rather old, female black dog at our doorstep. Friendly, happy, really really cold. We bundled her up into a kennel and brought her inside for some food and water and warmth. She's really sweet, loves getting her belly scratched, and loves to gives kisses. She's obviously someone's dog. How animals know to knock on our door, I have no idea (it's not the first time we've had an animal knock and walk in - it's how we found Gus Gus who ended up belonging to the lady down the street). Anyway, since it's so late, we're letting her sleep in my office and in the morning we're going to put up signs. Hopefully her family is looking for her and she didn't wander that far. She's very sweet and loving. She's a good pup.
I've only been back in Austin a few hours and life is already back to its normal insanity. I love it. And I love my Ashley Lauren Niels. There really isn't anyone more perfect for me in the entire world. I love her with all my heart.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, everyone! ♥ ♥ ♥
I love you all to pieces- my friends are a part of my family, and without you, my life would be dim. You bring a warmth and brightness to my life that cannot be accurately described in words. I hope this holiday season finds you well, and that you have as much love in your life as I do. ♥ ♥
And now, as I usually post on this holiday, the lyrics to one of my favorite Christmas hymns (which is one that I'm surprised more people have not heard of):
( Sweet Little Jesus Boy )
